Tony Lordi is a multi-media artist, currently producing;
sculpture with found objects, abstract oil paintings with added
objects, mixed media constructions, combines, assemblage, collage as well as unauthorized collaborations.

His interest lies in recycling old used things that seem to fall
within pop culture and modern symbolism. He uses almost anything from
found and fabricated objects to construction materials for processing
ideas. Old souvenirs, kitsch items, electric appliances, and musical
instruments are among what he considers "Icons of the American Culture.”

He studied at Newark State College, The Art Students League, Arts
High School and was a Full Professor of Art at the County College of
Morris for over twenty five years.

His first major New York Exhibition was in Soho, in the summer of
1988. Jack Gallery showed his new series of 25 Empire State Buildings
made with found objects and different construction materials. The
exhibit was very well received and was aired on Local, National and
International television news. The work was then exhibited at over 20
different galleries and museums including; The Everhart Museum in
Scranton, New York University's Broadway Windows in Greenwich Village,
the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Phyliss Rothman Gallery at Fairly
Dickinson University, Michael Ingbar Gallery, Nahan Gallery, Fredrick
Clement Gallery, The Noyes Museum, The Morris Museum, The Zhejiang
Museum in China, Circle Gallery in San Francisco, Chicago and New
York, as well as The Empire State Building itself.

Tony's work has been purchased by national and international collectors
as well as The Everhart Museum and corporations such as Lord & Taylor,
Macy's and Squibb.
