Biography: Barbara Nessim is an internationally known artist and educator whose paintings and drawings have been shown in numerous galleries and museum exhibitions. Over the past twenty-five years her work has also been featured in many major publications such as Rolling Stone, Time and Newsweek. Since 1980, she has been doing electronic art created on a computer and has lectured widely on the subject. In July of 1992 she was appointed Chair of the Illustration Department at Parsons School of Design.

Exhibition History: Barbara Nessim's paintings and drawings are part of numerous public and private collections and have been shown in museums and galleries worldwide. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art * Lund Kunsthall, Sweden, The Smithsonian Institute and the Sz/pmƒv/szeti Museum in Hungary. Nessim's works were also exhibited at the Kunst Museum in Germany and the Louvre, as well as a solo show at the Centro Colombo Americano in Colombia. Her work has appeared in many publications, such as Fast Company, New York Magazine and Newsweek, and on the covers of Time, Rolling Stone and The New York Times Magazine. In March of 2001 she was invited to show in the "ACM1: Beyond Cyberspace" exhibition with her interactive RAM mini-sketchbooks.
