Biography: Born in Dakar on 8th October 1960, Lamp FALL owns and manages Gallery XR, the very first art gallery that opened on the Goree Island.

In addition to devoting himself to his various art projects while his work was being exhibited in Dakar, Lam FALL's also worked on several graphic design projects. That is how his techniques developed, ranging in his early career from acrylic painting techniques, and stone sculpture to painting on African fabrics. Interpreting Lam Fall’s creation is an active process that challenges the viewer, used to the traditional distinction between the artist -as a generator of meaning - and the recipient of his imagination.

Today Lamp Fall creates his artworks painting with acrylic colors on African fabrics. By blending both communication vectors, he wants people to discover the variety, colourful and warm spectrum of African textiles.

Much of his artwork is inspired by African women, whose devotion and love for Africa significantly contributes to its development, like a mother does when raising her children. By honouring their devotion, he means to pay his respect to these courageous women, living in poor conditions, yet actively contributing to Africa's rural life.

He also displays the beauty of African fabrics by modeling them so that people can discover their traditional and three dimensional symbol system. In doing so, he wants to illustrate his rich cultural heritage to future generations, and to show the significance of this cultural diversity in opposition to the modern world celebrating unity versus diversity!
