Biography: Everything about my painting work is bent on existential themes and reflections, passing through the awarness of the body by means of portraits of bodies and faces which are often distorted either by a photographic lens or by unreal colours, with that violence which generates the inner confusion which comes from the aware statement of the own identity. This is the beginning of the painting serie called “DIFFERENCE and IDENTITY”.
Starting from an exterior process which considered the body as the shell of a confused and unsuitable soul, I stepped toward the inside as a consequence.
In “IMPOSSIBLE NARRATIONS” the attention was mainly focused on the awarness of the inner oniric world of everyone which begins with the meeting of the experienced life with the dreamt memories. This is a new inner way which slips into the onlooker whose night dreams are spied but not shared with anyone because they are only lived by the person who created them.
The women portraits show the changing condition between waking and sleeping. The dream boxes become the housing of our reflected images, being either things which can drive us back to the past or mysterious characters emerged from sleep.
The things coming out from our past life are the main base on which we build our existential awarness. My new painting serie called “PLAY” starts from them. It deals with prefabricated or used toys. Sometimes they are toys which are invented or on purpose manufactured to match the impelling creative requirements.
The game has the leading role. But it hasn’t a ludic purpose: it’s only the witness of a past life well-documented by things or pictures which can be so distorted that sometimes the experienced reality can’t be expressed with fairness. Once again the dreamt figures overlap the memories and create a line of vision which can’t be seen.
