Biography: He was born in Barcelona on March 11th, 1927.
Sculptor, drawer and engraver, he was employed as apprentice at the workshop of E.Monjo (1942-1947) and was a free pupil in " Escola de Belles Arts " (School of Fine Arts) of Barcelona (1945), but Enric Casanovas (1947 - 1948) was his authentic teacher from whom he inherited a style of Mediterranean character inspired by Maillol.
With twenty-one years he held his first individual exhibition (1948) in the House of the Book in Barcelona. His stay in Paris (1951) and his later residence in Belgium (1954-1956) contributed to his professional training and to the plural knowledge of the plastic arts of the second half of the XXth century.
In 1957 he will return to Barcelona and will realize the sculpture of the Gardens Mundet of Barcelona, which will be the first abstract work in the public route of this city. This one is followed by more than 50 works requested by public and private institutions in different countries like Spain Switzerland, Mexico, the United States or Italy.
Together with the sculpture his lithographies and drawings enjoy a big international prestige, of such an artist as complete as, sometimes, controversial. In 1987 he was entrusted to realize the front of the Passion of the “Sagrada Familia” of Barcelona and he put two conditions: that they allowed him to live inside the temple and not to be imposed a style of work; they admitted these terms and since then he lives in his sculptor's study inside the “Sagrada Family”.
Permanent exhibition at Hotel del Arte - Art Hotel, Sitges (Spain)
