About the Artist:
By deconstruction of different signs, symbols and iconographic schemes from (visual and textual) Christian tradition, Nikola’s works are thematising big and eternal narratives in context of completely personal desires expression, and pleasure/pain experiences. When he uses Christian tradition, Nikola treats it as the matrix which has defined the profile of our civilization in many ways, and whose print should provide the transparent reading of the work, but also preserve the intimacy of the artist. The manipulation of the data which are given by this matrix according to personal projections and freedom of interpretation, produces prints which don’t have the quality of the copy, but of floating parallelity and similarity.
