Biography: La Galerie Fleur De Lys is proud to present the works of Quebec artist AGATHE BOIVIN.
Agathe Boivin was born in St-Leon-of-Labrecque, in the Saguenay-Lake-St-Jean area, on April 18, 1943. She is the third of a family of fourteen children including eleven girls. Her mother would lend herself occasionally to drawing. At a young age, Agathe took taste, to this creative activity also. Her passion: to illustrate nature in order to reveal a second nature. Throughout her career, one can recognize her leitmotivl: the forest, my muse.
"The landscape, real or imaginary is always the center of my creations. All my visual conception leads me to gestural related to the expressionnist representation of nature. I transform landscapes and images into something real, and reality into suggestive images in order to speak about the emotions which reside in me. This succession of movement makes that the reality of the landscape is not the same anymore; it is what my inspiration perceives."
