Biography: JAMES T. DORMER
James Dormer is a Professor of Art at Colorado State University where he heads the printmaking program and has taught for the past thirty-nine years. Mr. Dormer was born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1934 and received graduate studio degrees from Penn State University and the University of Iowa where he was awarded a graduate fellowship to work with the noted printmaker Mauricio Lasansky. James Dormer’s prints and drawings have been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions and have been included in many museum shows, among them the Newark, Montclair, Trenton and Hunterdon Museums in New Jersey, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Seattle Art Museum, the Denver Art Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., the Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, Nebraska, etc. His work has also been shown in University Museums throughout the U.S. and is in a number of public and private collections in this country and in Europe.
