Biography: Bonnie Ann Evans
At work in the studio

I was born in Norwalk, Connecticut and currently live in the NW hills of Connecticut with my 2 biggest fans, my husband Jack, an inventor with over 70 patents and my son Doug.

I majored in sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, but after leaving, discovered I really wanted to paint. My Mother, a graduate of the National Academy, N.Y.C. was a plein air painter, taking no more than a few hours to complete beautiful pastels. I started "painting" sitting next to my mother on Bass Rocks in Gloucester, Massachusetts at age 5. My brother Don, graduated from Pratt and has numerous industrial design awards. My Grandmother Mary Laczko Kelemen, was a talented sculptress who always had a bin of wet clay on the cellar steps. My Grandfather, Harold Douglas was in the first graduating class at RISD. He designed Broadway stage sets in the 20's. Grandfather would spend weeks painting a basket of clams or crabs oblivious to the stench that caused others entering his studio to gag.

I am a patient painter sometimes taking many months to complete a painting. I love the detail in animals fur, the wonder of the variety - I shall never run out of subjects and love each one. I always welcome my loved ones to paint and keep me company in spirit, both 2 legged and 4 legged.

I hope you enjoy my art.
