Biography: Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art.
Currently lives and works in Uliyanovsk since 1958.
The main place in his creative work is given to landscape painting. The artist uses the same methods in his work as the famous realists of the past. The artist travels around the country, writes etudes in the open air, and then creates landscape paintings in his workshop. That's why his works are so real and convincing.
The creative life of the artist can be divided into some periods:
The first period is devoted to the nature of Ural. The artist creates small works, in which, nevertheless, the mountain nature is represented in all its beauty.
The next period is connected with the trip of the artist to the coast of the northern river Ladoga.
At this time, the evolved skills of the artist allow him to use the methods of the picturesque generalization of the forms and expressive simplicity of a few contrasting colours. As a result, he achieves harmonious connections of the author's direct impression and the expression of the special decorative nature of the North.
The last and the longest period is devoted to the nature of the coasts of the Volga river. He studies more closely the works of the masters of the past, who managed to convey the beauty of the land in their landscape paintings brilliantly. As a result the artist refuses from bright contrast combinations of colour and uses soft transitions instead of them, allowing to transmit the slightest nuances of nature. With years such attention when depicting the nature amplifies, the professionalism of the artist improves, allowing him to transform each work into the touching story about the beauty of the surrounding world.
As a tradition, which is usual to Russian art, the artist, even if he prefers landscape painting, should try his skills in creating portraits. And Boris Hudiakov also creates portrait images. And these portrait images are one more proof of the great talent of this Russian artist.
