Biography: Andrey Lipatov was born in 1960 into a military family in Kolomna near Moscow, Russia and since 1966 he has lived in Kirovograd, Ukraine. He started his career as a design engineer for a hydro-pump company until 1993 where he then embarked on a career as a painter. Soon after starting painting he had his first solo exhibition with an art gallery in Kirovograd in 1993, with a number of subsequent solo exhibitions including the Osmierkin’s Museum, Kirovgrad in 1999 and the Museum of Naïve Art, Moscow, Russia in 2001.Furthermore Andrey Lipatov has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Ukraine, France and the United Kingdom. Andrey Lipatov paints in a Naïve style and uses strong colours. In 1998 he became a member of the Ukrainian Association of Folk Art.
