Biography: Julie Elliot
Julie Elliot (who signs her work Kranabetter-Elliot) completed a Diploma Fine Arts, Honours, in 1999. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her studio is in Oyama, British Columbia where she lives with her husband and two children. The Okanagan Valley inspires her with its hills, lakes, and orchards, as does her garden, which grows bigger and takes over more lawn every year.
She says of herself: “I'm drawn to garden and landscape imagery to celebrate creation and to explore ideas about wholeness and health. Using paint drawing mediums, and collage materials, I work in a way that invites risk and accident. I strive for a sense of movement in my images; a sense that the picture is not static but has evolved and changed just like life.”
