Biography: Antonio Navanzino comes by his loving dedication to historic Italian art honestly. He is the son of Francesco Navanzino, a highly respected veteran of the ceramic arts community in Caltagirone, Sicily. He is also a teacher of fine arts at the University in Syracuse in Siciliy. And he is a kind and gentle spirit who traveled from Syracuse to graciously offer his translation skills so that we could communicate with his family. He made it possible to bring their art to the U.S. and the worldwide web for the first time through Global Artisan Showcase. Translations skills are not easy to find in Caltagirone.
Antonio puts his knowlege of ancient Roman ceramics artistry to work by creating his own authentic designs of primitive Italian ceramics. As you walk through the cobblestone streets of Pompeii, you can visualize his work in the homes of the time.
