Biography: Guy Stanley Philoche
Guy Stanley Philoche is a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, who immigrated with his family to the United States in 1980. After attending art school in New Haven, Connecticut, he moved to New York two years ago and is now rapidly gaining notoriety on the elite New York art scene. His works currently grace homes and businesses from the East Coast to the Mid West.
Philoche's artwork has often been referred to as the beautiful organization of chaos. The thickness, shape and direction of his strokes create a tactile counterpart to his intense texture and color schemes. His current works in the Untitled Series focus on a simple structure with balance and symmetry. The basic design structure used in these pieces is both pleasing to the eye and allows for maximum expression within its boundaries.
Philoche hopes that the viewer brings from these works an understanding of his view of the simplicity of elegance and beauty. He is clearly an artist who is not afraid of using his talents to take chances and go for it.
