Animal kingdom:
C.A.Galerija has the pleasure to present the paintings by Petar Salic.
After being awarded a prize for the best graduation work at the Croatian Academy of Arts in 1998, Petar has gone into almost total reclusion and withdrawn from the exhibition scene. He has painstakenly developped his sophisticated, almost Cezanne-like brushstroke manner in combination with masterly research into colour.
Compared to Macke for his choice of animal motifs, Petar has produced a number of large-scale oil paintings. Sometimes borderline chauchemar, the paintings incite a pure moment of bliss and invariably evoke memories of paradise lost.
We are extremely happy to show this rarely seen oeuvre by the artist.
