Birth Centenary of Gobardhan Ash
On the birth centenary (5th August, 2007) of Gobardhan Ash, Aakriti Art Gallery will exhibit the diverse media in which Ash has experimented with his prolific creativity. His affinity with the Bengal folk culture and rural life are usually illustrated in vivid contrasts using pure hues.
They are figurative paintings which carry an underlying message of toil, labour and suffering, depicted by sweeping brush strokes and unconventional forms. As an artist of enormous skill and master of diverse techniques he renders complex emotions with unique individual style
