Gallery Statement:
The First Electronic Museum Of Contemporary Art On The Internet
In May of 2005, the e-MOCA.com board of directors made the decision to form the eBay group emoca, in an effort to better leverage technology in the sale of artists' works. This group has been formed under the umbrella of e-MOCA.com
The board of directors of e-MOCA.com is made up of commercial gallery owners, curators, a well known art magazine publisher, and art collectors. e-MOCA.com is a work in progress . All board members are
volunteers who do this for the love of art. This is what distinguishes the emoca group on eBay from all other art groups. The artists selected have been chosen using the same criteria that commercial galleries and museums use.
This group has been established to promote those artists identified by the board of directors of e-MOCA.com. The artists selected have been invited to join based on the originality and unique aspects
of their work, and the potential of their works to accrue in value over time. Being included in the permanent collection of e-MOCA.com does not automatically include entry into this group. This will remain a small, elite group of artists who have achieved a mature esthetic and artistic style, yet continue to evolve. The
search for, and the consideration of each artist invited has been intense and time consuming.
eMOCA artists have been selected according to a standard, not a price!
It is our hope that you will seriously consider the inclusion of these artists in your collection.
