Gallery Statement:
OFICINA DO DESENHO [OD] is a centre for the study of art and the formation of artists situated in the town of Cascais, 25 Km West of Lisbon, half an hour away from the city’s international airport.

[OD]’s main objective is to develop and actualise the professional formation of artists and harmonize the cultural formation of all those who would approach us seeking to LEARN BY DOING within an environment where the usage of tools and materials is articulated with critical reflection.
FORMATION/LEARNING/DOING is promoted individually within a group structure, and encompasses and develops the fundamental languages, means and techniques of visual communication that are seminal factors in the foundation of each individual’s creative process.

[OD] promotes cooperation, intervention and experimentation in the field of the fine arts:
Our Art Gallery – 50 sq. meters open space – hosts regular exhibitions of [OD]’s resident artists and invited artists.
We encourage exchanges with other galleries, art schools and artists both in Portugal and abroad. All applications for fine arts and design related projects are welcome.
We produce and publish Serigraphs and engravings, as well as publications related to our artists and their art.
