Artists Describing Their Art:
Eve Jorgensen - Far North Queensland artist, Eve Jorgensen takes inspiration from the Natural Australian landscapes to develop individual paintings. Capturing the essence of Autralian diversity, from the dry dusty stockmans lifestyle to the cane farming heritage. The rich colours capture the essence of the Australian bush, rainforests, beaches, birds, flowers and wildlife. Each painting is an individually thought out process. It is not dictated by current fashion and home decor trends. Although Eve is extensively world travelled and has seen many sites around the globe that testify to natures magnificent beauty, Eve is foremost an Australian and all her inspiration and enthusiasm to paint scenes come from the Australian landscape. Russell Saunders - My influences are diverse. I love all forms of expressionism through art. I have learned that life is a constant changing force and I try to illustrate that through my art. ItaEURtms one of the reasons that abstract is my favorite art form. I have always been fascinated by the ephemeral nature of the moment. Life itself is a wonderful piece of abstract art, its beauty and message are different for each viewer. Dependent on what lens is chosen, it can change each time it is viewed. That is the beauty of life, art, and creativity. Constant flow and energy creating a different journey for every participant. In abstract art and life, you can look for hidden meaning and deep thought-provoking messages, or simply bask in the color and movement. The choice is always there for the viewer to make. I absolutely love that about art When I paint, as clichA(c) as it sounds, I let the piece decide what it will become. At times I may have a definite vision of what I want to paint but I am never afraid to change course if the piece is disagreeable. I love it when I hear people discussing ...
An-Chi Cheng - Gift from God - be His Instrument I have a strong interest in drawing when I was little and throughout the years I acquired skills in textiles, computer design and teaching young children Arts and Crafts related subjects at high schools, primary schools and Sunday school. For many years I focused on developing my philosophy of life and transmitting it to my works. I know that in pursuing great creativity I need personal effort in acquiring knowledge developing skills, and also an environment where I can develop my proficiency in a professional art culture. I fell in love with applying Textiles techniques as well as using recyclable and a wide variety of materials into my art makings even though it is quite different from what I did before. With this different approach, I constantly challenge myself to draw or paint into different textile-forms. In my portraiture pieces I am always aiming to express the pain or joy, the sadness or solitude of being human. In Courage and Cowardice series, I hope to instill in the minds of the audience what it means to be brave, its nobility, its solidness, its power for good and the solly of cowardice, its uselessness, ...
