Gallery Statement:
The past fifteen years have seen Chinese contemporary art explode onto the international scene, experiencing a growth that mirrors the country’s rapidly developing economy. With their fine technical skill, and the unprecedented political and social situations that provide their inspiration, Chinese contemporary artists have forged an international name for themselves. Along with the artists who initiated the first steps towards establishing this scene however, are a whole host of more recent artists whose works express a modern China, not the country of fifteen years ago, but China today.
These are the artists that Shine Art Space is devoted to working with and since our conception in 2005 we have sought out the best of contemporary Chinese talent, endeavouring to introduce these artists to a wider audience, both in China and abroad. All of the artists we work with are well recognised and respected in Asia but we aim to increasingly widen their exposure, to demonstrate on a worldwide scale the innovation and excitement of the Chinese contemporary art scene.
In the following pages we will introduce to you a selection of the diverse artists that Shine Art Space works with, showing sample images, a brief biography and a description of their works.
